Top 5 Cheap Fitness Equipment Locations Vancouver

With Covid, prices for fitness equipment have absolutely skyrocketed everywhere. This has made it even harder than normal to find reasonably priced equipment when we need it most.

It’s so important to exercise to keep your stress down yet it still needs to be somewhat affordable.

Below we listed a few of the best places to find good equipment for reasonable prices

1. Dollarama

Dollarama and possibly other dollar stores have a good selection of basic lightweight fitness equipment. Though they don’t carry dumbbells, they do carry a variety of light bands and Fitness Products.

One of my favorite things to purchase there is the ab wheel:

This is often a 20 to $25 item at other Fitness locations and Dollarama currently has it for only $4 dollars! It’s not a crazy high-end piece of equipment but I do use it and I weigh 200 lb.

If I break it, I’ll probably go and buy five more before I go and buy the $20 replacement. The quality of the roller for basic ab exercises is more than suitable.

Dollarama also has a variety of other light bands and Sliders that allow you to slide on carpet or hardwood. I find the sliders better on carpet which is what I’m after anyway because I can always use socks or a towel if I need to slide on hardwood.

2. Walmart

Walmart probably has the best selection of Coated Dumbbells 4 incredibly reasonable prices. The first time I found the dumbbell section I was blown away. They also have plates in this section that are more than adequate for most people.

They have heavier hex dumbbells as well. Aside from that, Walmart carries all the regular fitness equipment including battle ropes for under $40 which is really under her heard of.

here’s a picture below of their hex and coated dumbbells.

3. Fitness Town or Fitness Depot

I use Fitness Town or Fitness Depot or a similar genuine Fitness store to buy all my slightly heavier resistance bands. The reason for this is that I often by the bands that have a bungee woven coating over the band. This is because eventually with weather and age, the band’s do tend to snap. Almost all of the original band that I’ve owned over the years have eventually broken.

This isn’t to say that they’re defective, it’s just to say that they’re eventually going to go and when they do, I want them to snap inside the woven covering and not into my face or my clients face.

It’s so comforting when they snap and we just look at each other thinking what happened? Instead of getting an injury. I’ve had the regular bands that aren’t covered snap on me and they hurt a lot when they handle or band smashes into your hand or face.

So 4 more hardcore resistance bands, I suggest going to Fitness down to Fitness Depot.

4. Thrift Stores

Sometimes you can come across a used dumbbell or a used Ab Roller in thrift stores if you get lucky.

It’s a little bit more random but if you’re going through those stores for other things, be sure to Keep your eye open because you may spot a great deal.

My dad often goes to restore and one-time found a 55 lb dumbbell priced well below a dollar a pound. That’s pretty much unheard of these days.

5. Craigslist

If you know what you’re looking for, you can certainly find some great deals on Craigslist. most dumbbell and barbell items are fairly durable and it really doesn’t matter if they’re used. It’s well worth saving a ton of money if you’re just looking to get some weights versus a brand new set of dumbbells and barbells.

As Always, it’s a little bit hit-and-miss but if you keep an eye out, you can find some great deals on equipment.
