Byron is a highly qualified in home personal trainer that has worked in Vancouver for over 18 years. He works with general population and seniors and some athletes. He graduated with a degree in kinesiology from UBC and is certified North America wide through the NSCA association.
Areas of Focus
Weight loss and reconditioning of the body. I start with the weight loss and the food. I want to get the person moving again and having some food that helps them during the day.
Injuries
I also love to get clients back on track and take them from injury to energy and from weakness back to strength. I often work with physios and chiros and do a fair amount of technique and correction with clients. Sessions end up getting people in shape and in a much better place with injuries.
Posture
I also look at posture and focus on rebuilding the body as a whole. Greater understanding of fascia from physios I’ve worked with and my sports background have combined to really help clients move better and get in great shape. This includes people with nerve impingement, bad backs, sore hips, knees and shoulders that lock up all the time.
Favorite Body Part to Train
I love training legs in the gym and on the sports field. Still often pull over to do some sprints on the way home on a field I pass by.
Training Philosophy
Go really deep and figure out what really works and always remain a complete student of your craft. Question everything until you’ve truly proved your answers. Never bother with quick fixes and be genuine with all clients and colleagues.
Personal Interests
Piano-being able to slow down youtube videos to see what they’re playing has been a game changer! Also love sports, golf, waterskiing, windsurfing, fascia, coffee, healthy eating and advanced biomechanics.
Client Successes
Have helped or fixed: 100’s of knees, shoulders, lots of backs, bad posture, small biceps. Helped tone lots of tummies, legs, butts, backs and bodies. Still madly passionate about helping current and new clients charge forward with their fitness goals wherever they may be in their journey.
